Gould has introduced two new differential FET probes: the PB54 for high-frequency measurements: The PB54 combines a wide bandwidth (DC-300 MHz) with an internal 1:1 or 10:1 switched-gain attenuator and very low input capacitance. It is ideally suited to high-frequency measurements in electronics and communications applications, particularly where balanced lines and differential drives are used. Common-mode rejection is greater than 5000:1 at 1 MHz. |

... and the PB57 for providing added safety in off-ground testing. The PB57 addresses one of the key safety issues for oscilloscope users: that of carrying out safe off-ground measurements. The once common, and highly dangerous, practice of disconnecting oscilloscope ground connections is unacceptable nowadays. The PB57 allows off-ground signal tests to be carried out by providing a high degree of isolation along with excellent common-mode performance. |
The PB57 probe is ideally suited to monitoring 'high side' signals in tests on gate drives in switch-mode power supplies, motor controls or generator circuits. It provides a wideband (DC-100 MHz) performance and an internal switchable attenuator system with 10:1 and 100:1 ranges. The switched gain is remotely controlled from the tailbox at the oscilloscope end of the probe cable, safely away from high voltages and without the need to use a bulky clip-on system.
